Final Rejection

When Liam woke up, he found himself in what appeared to be an abandoned building of some kind. As his eyes scanned the darkened room, he realized he wasn't alone. For standing there watching him was Ronald Sandoval. Liam realized imeediately that he was in major trouble, but there was nothing he could do about it. The last thing he remembered was being shot during a volunteer raid and then waking up here, wherever here was.

Liam focused his eyes in Sandoval's direction and waited. His gut feeling told him, that whatever happened next, it would not be good at all.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Sandoval stepped forward to where Liam lay on the makeshift bed and stood over him. His face was unreadable but his eyes betrayed his true feelings. *You've caused me far to much trouble and have been a thorn in my side for far to long Major.*

As the agent spoke, Liam watched as Sandoval reached into the inside pocket of his jacket and pulled out a syringe filled with some kind of clear liquid.

Sandoval continued to speak in a cold menacing voice, *this ends now Major.* As he uncapped the syringe and reached over for Liam's arm, Liam couldn't help but wonder what was in that syringe. Then again, he didn't really want to know.

*Sorry that things couldn't have been a lot nicer between us, but I can't have you interfering in my plans to destroy my enemies,* continued Sandoval. *But what I must do has to be done without any further interference from you.*

Liam could see the merderous hatred in Sandoval's eyes and tried to fight him off. It was no use, he was to weak from blood loss. The struggle was useless and Liam felt real fear run through his body. Their eyes met, Sandoval's hatred filled eyes against Liam's terror filled ones. Liam felt his arm being held by one hand while the neddle of the syringe entered his flesh as the contents of the syringe were injected into his system.

That done, Sandoval stepped back, recapping the syringe. He turned around and began walking away. Liam just stared at the other's back fighting to stay awake but he couldn't. He felt unconsciousness and the blackness enfolding him as he heard footsteps leaving the room.

Before stepping out of the room, Ronald Sandoval turned and took one last look at Liam's small frame on the makeshift bed. He turned his head away and before stepping out of the room, muttered something that could only be heard by anyone who was close enought to hear him. *Goodbye son.*
